Every Monday at 11 a.m. now through July 26, Oxford firefighter B.J. Stapp and Fire Safety Dog Maggie will visit the Oxford Public Library to read stories to children and help them do fun projects.
Following the stories this week, the kids got to make construction paper fire trucks with working ladders.
Space is limited for the program and registration is required. For more information visit www.oxford.lib.mi.us.
You can follow Maggie’s numerous adventures on her Facebook page www.facebook.com/maggiethefiredog.
Raised for a year in an Iowa prison to be a Leader Dog for the Blind, Maggie was unable to complete her training due to medical issues.
Adopted by Stapp and his family, she now lives in Oxford where she helps teach children about fire safety and makes comfort visits to local hospitals. ? CJC
