The recount in the Oxford Township Clerk’s race between 32-year incumbent Clara Sanderson and challenger Patti Durr is happening today in a room at the township parks and recreation offices.
Sanderson beat Durr in the Aug. 3 Republican primary by a margin of 969 to 934.
Because the race was so close, Durr said she felt compelled to file for a recount. She had to pay the county a fee of $70 for the recount (or $10 for each of the township’s seven voter precincts).
Members of the Oakland County Board of Canvassers will conduct the recount.
