Picture this: You walk into the salon for a new style. You have an idea of what you want, but you’re not sure how to get it.
The stylist takes you back to her chair, but instead of diving right in for a wash, she sits you down for a soothing shoulder, neck and head massage – the entire time talking about what you want and giving you options for getting just the right look.
No, this scenario is not a dream. It’s the type of service you’ll receive every time you walk into ReGina Paul Salons.
Owner Reggie Smith opened the salon in July of 2001 with one thought in mind: the customer.
‘I believe that my staff works so well together because we all hold the same idea,? said Smith, ‘the client is the most important thing without a doubt.?
ReGina Paul Salons has thirteen employees offering an extensive range of services.
‘We are a full service salon,? said Smith. ‘We do everything but tanning.?
Some of the style services available include permanent and temporary color, highlights, lowlights, perming, straightening, extensions, braiding, wigs and hair clips.
‘We do an awful lot of color,? Smith stated. ‘In fact the majority of our business is color and cuts.?
The stylists use the IT&LY hair color line.
In addition, ReGina Paul Salons also offers manicures, pedicures, facials, full body waxing and massage.
Smith said her nail technician uses ‘Light Concept Nails?, commonly known as LCNs, instead of the typical acrylic sets.
‘They’re clear, a little more flexible than acrylic and they don’t have any toxins to them,? she added.
However, Smith wanted to emphasize that her technician prefers to promote natural nail cultivation.
The salon’s certified massage therapist can help customers relax with anything from Swedish to pregnancy to deep tissue to simple chair sessions.
‘The appointments range from a half hour to an hour and a half,? added Smith.
For those regular customers, ReGina Paul Salons offers several specials including frequent customer cards, referral perks and pre-booking discounts.
‘Every new client who walks through the door gets 15 percent off on their services for that day,? said Smith.
Spa packages are also available and yearly specials are often held.
And just for the men out there, the last Tuesday of every month is Men’s Night from 5-9 p.m.
For about half an hour, gentlemen can come in and enjoy a massage, shampoo and conditioning, hair cut, facial trim and then clean-up with a warm, aromatherapy towel.
‘We also provide pizza and beer, and the satellite TV is tuned to sports,? said Smith. ‘This is also just an opportunity for men to come in and ask about services they may otherwise not talk about.?
ReGina Paul Salons is located at 51 S. Washington St. in the Starbucks building in downtown Oxford.
The salon is open on Monday from 10-5, Tuesday from 9-9, Wednesday from 9-Midnight, Thursday from 10-Midnight, Friday from 8-8 and Saturday from 8-3.
