The American Cancer Society’s annual 24-hour Relay For Life is one of the organization’s most important fundraisers.
It is also a time to celebrate local cancer survivors while reflecting on the lives of those who have lost their battles with the disease.
On Thurs., Feb. 15, organizers of the Lake Orion Relay For Life will host a Kick-Off event at Paint Creek Country Club on Stanton Road.
The 2007 Relay takes place May 19-20 from 10 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Friendship Park.
Registration for the Feb. 15 Kick-Off celebration is at 6:30 p.m., followed by a program from 7-8 p.m.
Local Relay organizer Lauren Konchel urges everyone with a stake in finding a cure for cancer, to join in this year’s event.
