This year, the Relay For Life team of Lake Orion and Oxford raised money for the American Cancer Society by coming out to the Orion Culvers restaurant and helped the staff with their duties.
‘We tried to raise enough money for our team by coming out to Culvers, once a year, where we help them out,? said Paige Felix, a member of the team. ‘Then they give us 10 percent of the profit.?
Money raised supports them in the Relay For Life walk on June 2 at Friendship park.
In addition, the time spent at the restaurant also gave team members a chance to converse with anybody that could have questions about the Relay for Life walk.
‘I have been with this group since 2004 and we participate in the Relay For Life in Lake Orion and Oxford,? said Catherine Osborn, one of the helpers. ‘This was a great opportunity for us to get out and speak with people and answer questions people might have.?
