Clarkston native Trina Roettger is back in town, opening Guardian Angels Adult Day Services on Sashabaw Road.
“I’m glad to be back in my home town ? I love Clarkston,” said Roettger, owner, executive care director, and licensed nurse.
The center, which opens July 9, will offer brain fitness, exercise, cooking groups, games, music, crafts, and other activities for seniors, and medication assistance and health care, all with professional, trained staff.
“I want to make a difference and provide what is needed,” she said. “It’s my dream, my passion ? anyone who works for me will have to share that passion. It takes a special person.”
An open house is set for July 7, 12-3 p.m.
“We’ll serve sloppy Joes ? see what we’re about,” she said.
Her husband, Jeff, a commercial builder, helped renovate the facility at 5631 Sashabaw Road, which includes a dance studio, activities and dining rooms, and movie and quiet areas.
“I’m glad we found a place here,” Trina said.
Angie Acosta, activity director, has about five years experience.
“She’s excellent,” Roettger said.
A member of the Michigan Adult Day Services Association, Guardian Angels will offer full-day services, $60-$80 based on individual needs.
