Ronald Charles French Sr., of Posen, Mich., passed away peacefully at his home on Monday Oct. 2, 2017.
He was 78.
Ronald was born on July 24, 1939 to Charles and Alberta (Compau) French in Keego Harbor, MI. Throughout Ronald’s life he developed a passion of being outdoors. He had a tremendous love for most outdoor activities including fishing, working, and most of all was an avid hunter. Ronald had many trophies displayed in his home as well as the stories to go along with each one. Ronald was such an avid hunter that he even had a hunting journal “The Book” that logged every animal ever shot with all the details of the hunt including the date, weapon used and who shot it. It was a very prestigious thing to make it in the book. He took pride in teaching his children and grandchildren to hunt. Ronald was also very proud to have consider himself a builder as he built and remodeled numerous homes. He was an accomplished painter and was in the Painters Union and worked for GM for a period of time. He was also an active member of the NRA.
Ronald is survived by his four children, Ron French of Elizabeth, CO., Kathy Moore of Posen, MI., Diana Delp of Holly, MI., and Linda (James) Comstock of Lake Orion, MI., a brother, Howard French of Pontiac, MI., a sister, Charlotte ( George) Russian of Grand Blanc, MI., ten grandchildren, Derryk Charles, Devlin, Meghan, Cassandra, Danielle, Tara, Karin, Brian, Zackary, and seven great grandchildren, Concepcion, Omar, Nielly, Nadalia, Isabelle, Trinity, and Emery. Ronald was preceded in death by, a son, Michael French, and two grandchildren, Michael, and Ashley.
Ronald has been taken from McWilliams Funeral Home-Posen for cremation. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering announced at a later date. Online condolences may be registered at www.mcwilliamsfh.com
