This year Rotary Club of Ortonville recognized five area-graduating seniors with scholarships to assist them in pursuit of higher education opportunities. The club awarded these dedicated students with their scholarships at an annual scholarship awards dinner in July with family and friends in attendance.
Each year the Rotary Club holds a ‘competitive? scholarship award program for graduating seniors from Brandon High School. Participants complete a lengthy application that details their academic achievements, school extra-curricular activities, and involvement in community service during their high school years as well as financial need. An initial screening of the applicants narrows the field to a group that will be interviewed by a panel of Rotary Club members. After the interviews, a final determination is made by the interview panel on who will be awarded Rotary Scholarships.
Whether it’s buying a Rotary Wheel newspaper, or buying a ‘Duck Race? ticket during Septemberfest, both are key fundraisers that enable this Club to give back to the community.
The Rotary Club thanks supporters for allowing them the opportunity to serve the youth of Brandon High School with ongoing scholarship support.
