On Saturday the two Oxford teams traveled to Redford for the Detroit Catholic Central Invite.
Oxford boys competed against nine teams in the field, and came out Number One earning all seven-varsity runners a medal.
Oxford Wildcat senior Adam Richmond proved he was the best in the race, finishing first with a time of 17:18.
Other runners were Davidson 18:06/8th, Heskitt 18:16/10th, Szabo 19:21/30th, sophomore Andy Versteeg 19:45/40th, and junior Greg White 19:53/41st.
The varsity girls placed ninth out of eleven teams at the invite.
Head coach Ray Sutherland credited the girl’s efforts and the outcome considering that six of the teams at the invite were state powerhouses.
The Ladycats had three runners finish in the top 30 and earn medals. Freshman Danielle Kelley finished in front for Oxford placing 13th with a time of 22:32.
Freshman Taylor Dewey (23:02/24th) and junior Abby Stewart (23:26/29th) each earned a medal for their finishes. Other finishers for Oxford were Stefanski (24:25/48th), Burt (24:43/52nd), Darnall (24:43/53rd), and Schodowski (24:44/54th).
Sutherland added that each varsity Ladycat finished the race above all their average times, setting new personal bests for each.
The boys and girls teams head to Brandon on Wednesday in a tri-meet with Lapeer West, and then back to Brandon on Friday for the Blackhawk’s annual invite.
