Safety equals fun

Knowing how to operate Off-Road Vehicles is the first step to staying safe while having fun and Independence Township Parks and Recreation is here to help. On March 29 at the Clintonwood Park Carriage House the the ORV safety course culminates with a class and exam at the Clintonwood Park Carriage House from 6-9 p.m. Much of the course’s learning is done in a ‘take-home study? format.
Upon successful completion of the exam, students will be issued an ORV Safety Certificate. The class is taught by Sgt. Tom Wanles, a certified instructor.
The ORV safety class is open to ages 12 and older, parents are encouraged to participate. Cost is $15 for residents and $17 for non-residents. Call ITP&R at 248-625-8223 for more information.
