For about 24 years, Rick Menefee played Santa Claus for his more than 100 nieces and nephews.
His wife, Lee, said playing jolly St. Nick was a lifelong joy for Rick that turned into hobby in which he collected more than 88 Santas of all shapes, colors and sizes.
Last Christmas, the Menefees decided there were too many Santas to display in their home, so they loaned the collection to both the Oxford and Metamora libraries for public display.
In memory of her husband, who passed away suddenly in April 2004 at age 49, Lee once again loaned her husband’s cherished Santas to both libraries again this year for display through the holiday season.
