School board candidate forum April 24

The League of Women Voters Oakland Area (LWVOA) and Oxford Leader are hosting a candidate forum Monday, April 24 at 7 p.m. for the upcoming Oxford school board election.
Oxford Middle School’s LGI Room (1420 Lakeville Road) will be the place to meet and hear from incumbent Colleen Schultz and challengers Sue Tombrella and Alan Weber.
Two, four-year seats on the Board of Education are up for grabs in the Tuesday, May 2 election.
Don McHarness, an Oxford resident who’s coordinating the candidate forum, said only Schultz and Tombrella will be in attendance. Weber will be out of town, but he’s prepared a written statement to be read that night.
To start the forum, each candidate will be given two minutes in which to address the audience.
A question-and-answer period will follow at which point each candidate will have one minute to answer each question. Leader Editor C.J. Carnacchio will begin the Q&A by asking the candidates three questions.
After that, questions will be submitted in writing by members of the audience and presented to the candidates by moderator Mary Howarth, of Rochester Hills.
