A School for the Mind and Body joins with Two Men and a Truck to help local mothers in need in the “Movers for Moms” program.
This month, preschool students and staff collect essential items for women staying at HAVEN in Pontiac, including soap, shampoo, and other health and beauty items, formula, diapers, and other items for babies, and kitchen and cleaning products.
‘At A School for the Mind and Body we strive to add to our students? morals and values foundation by teaching the importance of supporting the local community and encouraging them to help those in need,? said Nanci Canine, founder and director of SFMB. ‘Movers for Moms is an invaluable program assisting moms in our community who are struggling. We hope that the donations make their Mother’s Day more enjoyable this year.?
In 2009, the ‘Movers for Moms? program collected more than 6,000 items for women in shelters across the state of Michigan. This year, the moving company and its partnering schools seek to collect more than 10,000 items.
