School meals, milk hike proposed for 2008-09

Brandon Twp.- Students in the district could be paying more for meals this fall.
Suzanne Evenson, director of food services, has proposed to the school board that the price of school lunches be increased from the current $2.25 to $2.50 at the elementary and secondary levels for the 2008/2009 school year, as well as an increase of 30 cents to the breakfast program ($1.30), a 25 cent increase to adult lunches ($3) and a nickel increase to milk (50 cents). The price increases are necessary to meet state reimbursement rates and will be up for board approval June 9.
