In the old days, it seemed like science was a dull subject always taught by some geeky-looking teacher with glasses who resembled Ichabod Crane.
Minutes ticked by ever so slowly as the teacher wrote endlessly on the chalkboard while spewing out a barrage of facts and numbers in a monotone voice.
But nowadays, science class is a fun, hands-on experience, especially at Oxford Middle School.
Over the last few weeks, all of the school’s sixth-graders have had the opportunity to do things like test the quality of pond water, search for and examine aquatic life, and learn how heat energy propels a hot air balloon through the sky.
