SeptemberFest a wonderful event

Dear Editor:
I would like to commend Brandon Township Parks and Recreation, along with the Ortonville Chamber of Commerce and all of the co-sponsors, for delivering an outstanding SeptemberFest event to our community last Saturday. Entertainment, games, contests, activities, food and shopping opportunities were available for every age group of the family to enjoy.
My favorite activities were visiting the Old Mill, Mann Schoolhouse and taking the historic trolley ride. I felt like I was visiting a miniature Greenfield Village! I was amazed at how many changes were made to the mill since the last time I visited it a few years ago. The new addition created space for more showcases and a place for the fire department’s 1928 Model A fire truck. The Ortonville Area Historical Society certainly outdid themselves with their recent renovations, making the Old Mill a gem in our community! If you haven’t seen the Old Mill, I encourage you to spend a Saturday morning there. You’ll be in for a real treat!
This year’s SeptemberFest was a wonderful opportunity for families to come and spend an enjoyable day in our downtown business district.
