It took Lauren Kapica, third-grader at Clarkston Elementary School, two years to grow her hair out long enough for Locks of Love, but just a few seconds to get it cut.
Her parents, Jennifer and Richard Detkowski, and brother Nicholas supported her in her endeavor, and stylist Gina Daniels of Glitz did the honors.
‘I wanted to be nice and think about other children with cancer who need hair,? Lauren said.
Locks of Love is a non-profit organization providing hair prothesis to children in need. Donated hair needs to be at least 10 inches long.
