Brandon Twp.- The planning commission will review a preliminary site plan request by B.L.L. Commercial Property Company LLC to develop a 15,000 square-foot retail/commercial center off Ortonville Road north of Seymour Lake Road during a meeting at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 11, at the township offices, 395 Mill St.
Silverman Development Company President Steve Robinson and Mark Witkiewicz will represent B.L.L. Commercial Property Company.
Silverman sold 70 acres of property to Centex Homes in 2004, for the Long Lake Village subdivision, but kept 4-and-a-half acres of M-15 frontage that is zoned commercial. The center is the final phase of the project.
The center, Long Lake Crossing, would be located just south of the entrance to the subdivision. Robinson has said that despite a sagging real estate market, he is not concerned about tenants and has had interest from banks and medical buildings.
Planning and Building Director Tim Palulian noted that while the property is zoned commercial, there is ‘a significant portion of the property that has regulated wetlands that the township and the state will be carefully scrutinizing through the review process.?
Robinson said once approved, the company will start lining up tenants and the center would likely be built next year, possibly in the spring.
