Susanne Corker of Orion Township won first place at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House Gingerbread competition (adult category) in Grosse Pointe. ?
The house will be on display during Christmas Tours through December 20th.
‘Corker’s creation, entitled ‘Making Snow Angels at Grandma’s House,? is made entirely of edible food products, including gingerbread, icing, food coloring, fondant, wafer paper, gelatin, candy trims and sprinkles, steel-cut oatmeal, and organic coconut.
‘The house is constructed from 1006 individually cut gingerbread shingles, gelatin window ‘glass,? hand-shaped fondant foundation ‘rocks,? and hand-pressed (mini-staple) brickwork.
