Spikers continue ascent in OAA II standings

The Lake Orion volleyball squad climbed over the .500 mark, both overall and in OAA II play, with a pair of impressive victories last week and another last night.
The squad first topped visiting Berkley on Sept. 25 in an OAA crossover match 25-12, 25-9 and 25-8.
In that contest, Ashley Bringard recorded 16 kills, Alicia Roth had 17 digs, Shawmee Davey had 24 assists and Jessica Bland went 16/16 serving with a half dozen aces.
The team then beat host Rochester 25-17, 25-17, 25-18 in a league match last Thursday.
Bringard had eight kills, Roth recorded 23 digs and was 20/21 serving with three aces, Davey had 15 assists and was 13/13 serving with two aces and Bland had 5 blocks, 7 kills and was 11/11 serving.
Lake Orion beat host Stoney Creek last night 25-16, 27-25, 25-17 in another league tilt.
Maddie Blackburn had 7 kills, Roth had 27 digs, Davey had 18 assists and Bringard was 18/18 serving with 2 aces.
With their recent league results and a 2-2 showing in Frankenmuth over the weekend, the Dragons now sit at 11-8-2 overall and 4-2 in the league.
