Spring has sprung into full bloom at the Orion Center!
We are pleased to announce our much awaited Health and Wellness partnership with Beaumont Hospital. Programming includes training and presentations on a wide variety of health topics geared for seniors. Please join us April 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. for a presentation entitled Positively Empowered. Beaumont will host a Senior Health Works Series on May 19th and May 22nd that deals with achieving wellness in your daily life. Interactive tools will be shared to promote wellness and active lifestyles.
Alzheimer Association is offering two seminars at Orion Center at 10:00 a.m. Information will be provided regarding Memory Loss and Dementia on May 16, 2014 and Understanding Difficult Behaviors on May 23, 2014. Please call 248-391-0304 to make reservations to attend this informative series.
The breakfast club is in full swing as we head into spring. We meet the first Monday of every month at 9:00 a.m. Please contact the Orion Center to add your name to the list of friends who enjoy coffee and catching up on all the latest news.

The North Oakland Caregiver & Senior Expo is Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Orion Center from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Over 60 exhibitors will provide useful information and resources for seniors and caregivers to assist seniors with everyday needs. Bring your family and friends and experience first-hand the latest and greatest advancements available for seniors.
The grass is turning green and Concerts in the Park have been scheduled for Tuesday evenings in June and July. The concert series begins on June 17, 2014 and run through July 29, 2014. Meet you on the hill 7:00 p.m. at the Wildwood Amphitheater, located just south of Township Hall.
The annual outdoor Community Garage Sale is scheduled for June 7, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Orion Center. Call the Orion Center if you would like to rent a table to sell your unwanted items or just make plans to shop for treasures.
ONTV production classes are scheduled on May 7, 14, 21, 28, and June 4 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Two of our active seniors who attended the training last year were recently honored as ONTV Producers of the Year. Congratulations George Sinnott and Evelyn Doyle! We are looking forward to giving you this wonderful opportunity for creative expression to get hands on training in producing your own programs.

Funny Bone: My daughter surprised me this morning by fixing me a cup of coffee. After choking down the worst coffee I ever drank, I found a little green toy soldier in the bottom of my cup. Asking my daughter about this she replied, ‘The TV said the best part of waking up is soldiers in your cup.?
