Not only did Annie bring her gun, but she brought much applause Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night as Lake Orion High School’s Thespian Troupe 2898 presented ‘Annie Get Your Gun? in the school’s performing arts center.
Director Leann Lowe said she was ‘thrilled? with the performance.
‘This was a very different type of play because of its fun nature, and I think the kids really enjoyed it,? she said. ‘We also learned’a bit about Annie herself.? She was quite a woman’s libber.?
The musical is based on the true story of Annie Oakley and her sharp shootin? skills; Annie falls in love with Frank Butler, and together they join Buffalo Bill’s Wild, Wild West Show.
The musical’s love story, Indians, cowgirls, and well-known songs’such as ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business?’kept the crowd entertained.
Diane McNulty played the part of Annie Oakley, and Shane Freeman acted as Frank Butler.
The show was produced by Cathy Kimmel, an LOHS English teacher and former Lake Orion Review reporter.
