Brandon Twp.- Openings are still available for the STARS reading program summer sessions.
After a successful school year, STARS (Student Tutoring and Reading Sessions) will be offered Aug. 11-15 and Aug. 18-22 with three different sessions? 9 a.m.-10 a.m. and 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the library, 304 South St., and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Clarkston Lakes Mobile Home Park Clubhouse.

One session, intended to target reading fluency and comprehension for students entering second through sixth grades, is $20. The program uses ‘Read Naturally,? a research-based curriculum endorsed by the U.S. government.The Brandon Fletcher Intermediate School Parent Teacher Association is sponsoring 20 incoming fifth- and sixth-graders, and nine spots for which the fee will be waived are still available.
