Stranger danger investigation yields no results

Brandon Twp.- Deputies were called to a Christmas tree farm in the township on Nov. 30 on a report of a man trying to coax a young girl into his van, however, while it initially appeared suspicious, further investigation has allayed concerns of police.
‘We’re not so sure someone was trying to lure a female into a vehicle,? said Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Greg Glover. ‘It would be an unusual location for something to happen? people were all over the place. We haven’t found anything that leads us to believe anyone was trying to lure a female into a van.?
The location of the incident was the driveway of Candy Cane Christmas Tree Farm, 4780 Seymour Lake Road, and it was reported by a Brandon High School student who is also an employee of the farm.
Brandon High School Superintendent Matt Outlaw sent a letter to parents in the district following the incident, describing the man as ‘in his late 40s-50s. He is a large man with a beard, his beard is dark with gray in it. His hair is a little lighter and is thin on top. He is pale skinned with prominent freckles on his cheek bones. Small upper lip and his bottom lip is big. His van is a white boxed style older work van. It is rusty on the bottom with black rails on the top.?
Reports of Goodrich Schools having a similar incident are erroneous. Goodrich Superintendent Michelle Imbrunone said the district reports strangers in surrounding communities to keep students safe, but said there have been no reports in Goodrich of anyone approaching children in a suspicious manner.
Glover said OCSO deputies will continue to be watchful for any vehicles or persons matching the description given.
