A 29-year-old White Lake Township man cut himself in the stomach with a knife in front of Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies as he stood on Clintonville Road on Jan. 1.
The man was found by police around 10:26 a.m. without a shirt or coat with blood flowing from his left wrist and forearm and was believed to be intoxicated.
After police arrived, the man cut himself across the stomach while standing in the street. The man cooperated after police told him to drop the knife and kneel to the ground.
Independence Township Fire Department treated the man and then transported him to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Pontiac.
