In contests nearly rivaling the presidential race, challengers are taking on the incumbent supervisor in two townships in the Nov. 2 election.
In Brandon Township, newcomer Becky Gilpin will take on four-year incumbent Ronald Lapp.
In Hadley Township, newcomer Mary Sweeney will take on 12-year incumbent Bill Dutko.
With an all-republican lineup, Atlas Township’s race was decided in the August 3 primary election; supervisor Paul Amman’s office was uncontested.
In Groveland Township, supervisor Robert DePalma and other board members also ran unopposed in the August primary election.
