Thanks to cooperative efforts among Oxford Township Supervisor Bill Dunn, Addison Township Supervisor Bruce Pearson and Orion Township Supervisor Chris Barnett, Indian Lake Rd. (from M-24 to Barr Rd.) and Barr Rd. (from Indian Lake Rd. to Drahner Rd.) are in the process of receiving a fresh coat of gravel so as to give local motorists a smoother ride. The Edward C. Levy Co./American Aggregates gave the townships a 50 percent discount on 5,000 tons of gravel and TKMS, a trucking company in Oxford, gave them a discount on hauling it all. Dunn, Pearson and Barnett are pictured standing in front of a road grader from the county road commission. In the background is Indian Lake Road’s stone bridge. Built in 1891, the bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Photo by C.J. Carnacchio.
