The Wildcat swimmers maintained their perfect record, now at 6-0, after defeating Troy Athens 99-86.
‘An extremely close match-up between Oxford and Troy Athens (4-2) will lead to an extremely interesting league meet,? said Oxford Head Coach Jackie Rank.
Athens? other loss is to North Farmington (5-1) with a final score of 96-90.
All three teams will be vying for the league title when they face off against each other, along with Ferndale, Hazel Park, Avondale and Southfield-Lathrup, at Oxford High School Feb. 24-26.
‘In the 200 Medley Relay: Oxford’s A Relay of Sereno, Scepka, Warren, and Terry took first’with a time of 1:50.23. Oxford’s B Relay of Powers, Grove, Tasch, and Butler came in third’place.
200 Freestyle: Senior Armando Vega finished first’with a time of 2:02.52. Trenton Sabo and Spencer Adamczyk placed fourth’and fifth,’respectively.
200 Individual Medley: Sophomore Garrett Warren came in first’with a time of 2:14.84. Jonah Grove finished fourth’for Oxford.
In the 50 Freestyle: Senior Sean Terry took first’with a time of 23.11. Travis Butler and Jake Tasch finished third’and fourth’respectively.
Diving: Sophomore Mitchell Mulligan came in third’with a score of 172.50. Josh Burr took fourth for Oxford.
100 Butterfly: Garrett Warren had his second win of the night with a time of 58.42. Armando Vega and Lucas Sereno finished fourth’and fifth’respectively.
100 Freestyle: Sean Terry had his second win of the night with a time of 51.52. Michael Scepka took third’and Brandon Powers placed fifth’for Oxford.
500 Freestyle: Travis Butler finished third’with a time of 5:46.80. Zack Acton and Spencer Adamczyk rounded out the top five.
In the 200 Freestyle Relay: Oxford’s A Relay of Terry, Tasch, Vega, and Butler took first’with a time of 1:36.61. The B Relay of Sabo, Scribner, Weltyk, and Acton came in third. 100
Backstroke: Junior Lucas Sereno tied with Austin Ye of Troy Athens with a time of 1:04.47. Brandon Powers finished fourth’for Oxford.
100 Breaststroke: Michael Scepka came in fourth’with a time of 1:09.51. Jonah Grove finished in fifth’place.
400 Freestyle Relay: Oxford’s A Relay of Sereno, Scepka, Warren, and Terry took first’with a time of 3:43.90. Oxford’s B Relay of Acton, Stresky, Sereno and Powers came in third.
The boys will next take the pool at the league meet.
