Teachers toss pink slips

Goodrich – Teachers can now trash their pink slips, and parents can plan their calendar year.
With nine teachers accepting early retirement, all 39 Goodrich teachers laid off in April have been called back.
‘We are waiting to hear if all accept the call back,? said Goodrich school superintendent Kim Hart.
The 198-day calendar year will remain in effect without changes, says Hart, with the exception of spring break, which will follow the county calendar in setting the break at the last full week in March instead of centering the vacation days around the Easter holiday.
Names of teachers accepting the early retirement buyout will be made public at the board of education’s next meeting, scheduled for 6 p.m. July 18 in the community room of Goodrich High School, located at 8029 S. Gale Road in Goodrich.
