Dear Editor,
You had to be there! July 23 was a picture perfect day; 113 golfers, dozens of sponsors, and volunteers were all helping save the places we love.
Thanks should go to all who helped the 2007 Great Blue Heron Open benefit golf tournament fly high from tee time to tea time!
Yes, the funds raised, expected to surpass $11,000, exceeded expectations. In a challenging Michigan economy, NOHLC gives hearty thanks our major sponsor, The Parks at Stonewood for their generous financial support making the event possible. Thanks also to additional sponsors: Hubbell, Roth & Clark, Clarkston Chrysler Jeep, Chris Walker-Investment Counsel, Inc., Secrest Wardle, All Points Construction, Bytner Design Associates and Carlisle-Wortman Associates.
Proceeds will help the North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy further three primary objectives: being poised with adequate financial and other resources to preserve the best of what’s left in Oakland County, stewarding our existing fifty preserved properties totaling over 1100 acres, and increasing public awareness of the urgency to act now to protect these resources.
By the way, if readers want to join us for more fun, they should call 248-846-6547 to be sure the receive an invitation to Wild Night Out Goes Country ‘a pig roast and hoedown party for land preservation coming up Friday, Oct. 5.
