Wise Words to Ponder: ‘Paper bags and plastic hearts. All are belongings in shopping carts. It’s good-bye, but we got one more night,? ? Martin Johnson (Boys like Girls)
It’s finally here! It’s time to move away. In less than a week I’ll be moved into my new home in Big Rapids, MI. Wow, what a summer it’s been. College will be a whole new experience and a whole new light to me. I have been looking forward to this for a long time, but I feel as if I’m going to be missing a lot of people.
My best friend, Bre, moves into her new dorm at Michigan State University in a few days and my other friend Marsha is moving all the way to Ohio for school. I feel like we are all going away to different summer camps and that sure we’ll see each other on breaks, but this is seriously a big step.
If you’re feeling the same way, here’s my advice. Keep in touch with those you care about. My senior year of high school showed me a lot about my friends as well as myself. People whom I thought I’d lost forever reappeared in my life again others just left completely.
When I look back on this past summer I can reflect with a smile. I spent it with the people I love, I worked for a newspaper that has given me skills and let me get my feet wet in the journalism world, I also worked at a typical summer job. Yeah, it’s been tough, but I’m not complaining. I was so happy and so lucky to have gotten a chance to be the Leader’s summer intern.
I cannot wait to start my new life at Ferris State University. It’ll be tough, but it’ll be a blast! I’ll study hard, and live life one day at a time. I know my family is proud of me, they tell me everyday.
