Liz Wager, 17, of Thomas, brought four 10-day-old raccoons home to their new mother – her 8-month-old Norweigan Elkhound, Timber. The raccoons don’t have their eyes open and are too young to know the difference and Timber has mother’s milk for them.
Addison officials voted to buy the property they have been renting for their hall, 3-5-7 East Elmwood from Hiram Terry.
The title “Gravel Man of the Year” goes to Louis Parkhurst. He’s worked at Koenig’s on Lakeville Road for 32 years.

A 61-year-old man on Kintyre reported to authorities that his 13-year-old son had run away after they had an argument. The youth was last seen wearing blue jeans, a camouflage t-shirt and a blue jean jacket. The youth is on medication and may become violent when not taking the prescription regularly.

A 62-year-old Dennison resident reported receiving harassing phone calls from his ex-wife.

Domestic assault between a boyfriend and girlfriend on S. Washington St.
A daughter requested for officers to go to Pineridge Court to check on her ill parents after receiving a disturbing phone call from the residence.
Cross Roads for Youth reported a 16-year-old male truant.
An area resident found a CD case with numerous CDs at the intersection of S. Washington and Ensley streets.

A 37-year-old Lincoln Rd. resident reported that her 1990 Yamaha 4-wheel ATV and a mini-bike were stolen from the back of her home.
An Oxford Schools employee reported that a laptop has been stolen from one of the high school classrooms.
The owner of A.F.E.C. Escavating reported that several tools were stolen from his construction trailer while it was parked on Fountain View Ct. The latch and lock were pried from the trailer.

Friday, July 18
Dispute between a landlord and tenant on N. Washington St.
A woman on N. Coats Rd. called 911 because her ex-husband is “attempting to pick up the child and it’s not his weekend.”
Abandoned auto on Glaspie St.
Police received a call on a reckless driver that forced another vehicle off the road and onto the curb while traveling southbound on S. Washington St.
Medical emergency on Shummard Branch.
A Brentwood resident called 911 because an intoxicated man was standing outside his home threatening to beat people up.

Saturday, July 19
Suspicious vehicle seen on Church St.
A Lake Orion man reported that his vehicle’s passenger side vehicle was broken out while parked in Oxford’s southwest quadrant parking lot.
Fireworks on Burdick St.
Police assisted with an intoxicated female resident on Park St. who attempted to commit suicide. According to a witness, the woman took a handful of pills. She was combative with officers and finally transported by American Medical Response to a hospital.

Sunday, July 20
A local resident walked into the Oxford Village Police Station and informed authorities that he didn’t know what to do with an intoxicated individual he picked up.

A resident on Thornehill reported a cell phone and wallet that may have been stolen from his vehicle.

Thefts – Authorities are investigating two vehicles thefts that took place on Seven Oaks. A Thornehill Trail resident and Seven Oaks resident each had items taken from their cars.
Police were called to have four or five motorcycles parked on the sidewalk outside of Rob’s Place move.

A Cross Timbers St. resident found that a rock had been thrown through his driver’s side window sometime during the night.

The village police responded to a call from an E. Burdick St. resident who reported “several subjects at the house wanting them to come out to beat them.” No one was near the property when authorities arrived.

Deputies received a report from a 17-year-old Cross Timbers St. resident that the back window of his truck had been broken out sometime during the night.
Thursday, July 24
Police received a call from a girl on Pontiac St. who wanted to see if the authorities have had any contact with her brother or his girlfriend. The couple had been gone for three hours on a walk by this point.

Witnesses saw an intoxicated subject on Thornehill Trail looking for his shoes.
A Lakeville Court resident called in to complain about the neighbor’s dogs tearing up her backyard.
Suspicious vehicle seen on Pontiac St.
A door at Oxford High School was found open around 10:30 p.m.
Oxford Police Chaplain David Gerber assisted authorities with a suicidal subject. The chaplain spoke with the Orion Township man on his cell phone, and then again at the man’s home, until help and medical attention could arrive. The subject was taken away for treatment with little incident.

Friday, July 25
A 58-year-old Crawford St. resident reported receiving numerous hang-up phone calls every day, at all times of the day, over the past month.
Assault and battery reported between a 40-year-old woman and her daughter’s ex-boyfriend in the Village Manor Apartments on Crawford St.
A group of youths standing in the southeast quadrant parking lot and thought to be violating curfew were actually just waiting for their rides after seeing a late night movie.
Neighbor trouble on Powell turned out to be a small party going on in a backyard where the resident is losing his hearing.
A Park St. resident complained about people speeding down the street now because of the construction on Pontiac St.

A resident on Sommerville Dr. called 911 to make a dog complaint.
An area resident called in to report minor damage to her vehicle while it was parked behind the Oxford 7 Cinemas.

Saturday, July 26
Assault and battery reported on E. Burdick St. between a 40-year-old Oxford man and a 9-year-old youth.
Domestic assault and battery between a boyfriend and girlfriend on Stanton St.
A 20-year-old Leonard man has accused an 18-year-old Oxford man of stabbing him in the head and face with a pocket size knife while at a party. Authorities were not called at the time and the victim refused to be taken for medical treatment by friends.

Three juveniles were caught by an Oxford Lakes Rd. resident trying to flip over and sink a pontoon boat.

A 44-year-old Thomas Rd. resident reported that her son’s bank card had been stolen from their home by one of his friends and that $508.75 had been withdrawn from the bank account without authorization.

Disturbing the Peace – A Mill St. resident called to complain about a truck in the nearby parking lot creating large amounts of noise by revving the engine and spinning around.
A 44-year-old female reported that the driver’s side door of her son’s car had been broken sometime during the night.

Sunday, July 27
A Lakes Edge Dr. resident reported finding the sprinkler heads on his watering system broken off.
Police found graffiti spray painted all over Clear Lake Elementary’s sign.

A noise complaint was filed against a resident yelling out of an apartment window on N. Washington Rd.

An area resident reported that someone had caused minor damage to his vehicle while he was in Red Knapp’s American Grill.

Monday, July 28
Police stopped a brown Ford F-250 after several motorists reported the vehicle driving recklessly down N. Washington St., cutting people off and making obscene hand gestures.

After being stopped on Lakeville Rd. for speeding, a 39-year-old Leonard man was arrested for an outstanding warrant, driving with a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Deputies arrested a 58-year-old Oxford man for operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor after he struck another vehicle on S. Lapeer Rd.

Tampering With Mail – An Oxford Township man contacted authorities to report that someone had forced open his mailbox and taken his mail. A group of children later returned some of his crumpled items which they found in the roadway.

Wednesday, July 30
Caller complained about motorcycles speeding on Lakeville Rd. and traveling in and out of a nearby subdivision.
A resident on Sebek reported that someone had spray painted her front lamp post.
A Leonard man was cited for driving with a suspended license after being pulled over for an expired license plate.

Thursday, July 31
A caller complained of several kids out front of a Lakesedge Dr. home being loud.
A 17-year-old Oxford Lakes Dr. resident was cited for reckless driving after a sheriff’s deputy saw the youth make a fast turn onto southbound M-24 from Drahner Rd. During the turn, “the tires broke free and the rear of the vehicle started to spin.” The youth regained control of his car and continued down M-24. The officer followed the youth, but could not pace him after traveling 70 miles per hour. While traveling down the road, the officer also saw the youth cut off another vehicle while changing lanes. The officer stopped the driver in front of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The youth later came to the Oxford Sheriff’s Substation to argue the citation stating “he was going to loose his car if he got a ticket. His parents would not believe him.”

Unknown individuals broke into a model mobile home on E. Manor. Several items were either broken or stolen.
A village employee contacted police because a group of teens playing volleyball did not leave the park at closing time. The group told officers they were just finishing their game before leaving.
After being pulled over on W. Drahner Rd. for expired plates, a 31-year-old Oxford Township man was arrested for marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license.

Friday, August 1
A 31-year-old Leonard man was stopped for speeding on Lakeville Rd. and ended up being arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor.

A 48-year-old resident on Gill Rd. contacted sheriff’s deputies because her home had been broken into.
Possible child abuse reported on E. Burdick St.
An unknown individual threw pop all over a car parked on N. Baldwin Rd. The owner said the drink ate away the paint and the vehicle will have to be repainted.
Loose dog reported on W. Burdick St.
Village officers investigated a call claiming a group of youths behind Victoria’s Delights were smoking marijuana.

A 26-year-old Oxford Twp. woman was pulled over for running a stop sign on Thomas Rd. and ended up being arrested for driving with an expired license.

A 42-year-old Oxford man was transported to the hospital after being found unconscious on W. Burdick St.
A 20-year-old female reported that her vehicle’s tires were slashed by an unknown individual.
Parents on Pembroke Lane reported their 13-year-old daughter as a runaway.
A 42-year-old Staton Rd. resident contacted the Oakland County Sheriff because she believed someone was taking the mail from her mailbox.

An employee with a company on Glaspie contacted dispatch because she was concerned about a small hot table at the office that had been on when the blackout occurred. She was worried the item may turn back on when the power returned and cause a fire.
