The Scrapping Post

Whether you’re a first time scrapbooker or someone whose been building memories for years, The Scrapping Post is the one-stop shop for all your scrapbooking needs.
Run by co-owners Cassandra Perry, Diana Renouf and Lori Fielder, the family-operated business opened its doors this past October.
‘Lori and I are avid scrapbookers,? said Perry. ‘We would get together at least once a month.?
When the pair heard that the store Scrapbookers Dream/Memories Forever was up for sale, they jumped on the opportunity.
‘We just knew that we wanted to buy it,? said Perry.
The Scrapping Post offers a wide variety of supplies, classes and workshops.
Just this past month, the shop brought in around $27,000 in new inventory. Just a few of the brand names available include Karen Foster, Paper Adventures, Cloud 9 and Doodlebug.
Classes are offered for adults of all skill levels from beginners to advanced, and separate courses are available for middle and high school students. Also, special technique classes are available.
The workshops are basically an opportunity for people to come in and work on their scrapbooks during scheduled hours.
‘People can use our space to work on their projects,? explained Perry. ‘They can use our equipment which includes templates, die-cuts and scissors.?
‘The store is open during the workshop or class, so they can purchase any materials they may need as they go along.?
There are many benefits to shopping at The Scrapping Post versus a larger chain store.
First, The Scrapping Post offers a wide selection.
‘We can also help customers find those hard-to-get items,? added Perry.
Second, customers can find that special ‘one-on-one? attention that is unique in specialty stores.
And third, customers can find knowledge and experience to help them create wonderful scrapbook pages.
‘I think this is the most important,? said Perry. ‘The biggest benefit really is pulling ideas and techniques from people with experience.?
Just a couple other services offered at The Scrapping Post are gift certificates for those ‘hard-to-buy-for? friends and family, and ‘Wish Lists.?
The Wish List service allows customers to come in and make a ‘wish list? of goods for an upcoming birthday, holiday or special occasion.
‘People can just come in and make their list,? said Perry, ‘and then friends and family can shop from it.?
Once every three to four months, The Scrapping Post holds a store-wide sale. Also, frequent shopper cards are available for those regular customers.
Each card contains punches for $5, $10 and $20 increments, given at the time of sale only. Complete the card, and receive $15 in free merchandise on your next visit.
Perry added that right now two ‘All-Day Crops? are scheduled for April 12 and 26. The workshops will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and participants can enjoy giveaways, prizes and food.
The Scrapping Post is open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Business hours are extended on Tuesdays until 10 p.m. and Fridays until midnight when workshops are held.
