Theft at Oxford Shell Station

Authorities are still investigating a robbery that occurred at 11:15 p.m. on May 31 at the Oxford Shell Gas Station on S. Lapeer Rd.
According to the 52-year-old gas station attendant, a white male with a shaved head walked into the station, greeted him and then went into the bathroom. While the man was in the bathroom, the attendant claims that he pulled the store trash and took it to the dumpster.
Upon returning to the store, the attendant says he found the unknown subject bent over the counter with his hand in cash register drawer. The attendant claims he yelled at the individual, who then took off, running passed the attendant as he went out the door.
The attendant said he saw the man head across M-24 towards Oakdell Rd.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s report, the establishment’s manager was contacted for the store video tape, but the device had not been recording at the time of the incident, and the tape was last dated for October 2003. Authorities were unable to acquire a picture of the subject.
The report listed the case as pending and currently turned over to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department’s Detective Bureau.
