The Orion Area Youth Assistance committee is sponsoring its annual Youth Recognition Awards Ceremony on April 12.
The purpose of this event is to identify outstanding school-aged youth from the Orion community who have volunteered or have made great positive changes in their lives.
Youth who have helped an individual, organization or have performed a heroic deed without compensation may be nominated.
This doesn’t include academic excellence, athletic involvement or required service learning hours for graduation.
The committee wants to recognize these youth for their special efforts above and beyond program requirements.
For recognition consideration, consider youth who may have volunteered in any outstanding way including but not limited to: personal acts of heroism; ecology/beautification activities; Special Olympics, Muscular Dystrophy; senior citizen center assistance; hospital/nursing home service; March of Dimes; preparing meals for a sick neighbor; Boys and Girls Club volunteer assistance; drug/alcohol prevention.
For information and to obtain a nominating form contact Kelli at the Orion Area Youth Assistance office at 248-693-6878. The form must be returned by Feb. 8.
