An 18-year-old Brandon Township man was expected to be arraigned on Thursday on a charge of felonious assault in a baseball bat attack on another 18-year-old man who resides in the same mobile home park.
Police continue to investigate six other subjects also involved in the confrontation in the Clarkston Lakes Mobile Home Park, in which property damage to vehicles and landscaping also occurred over a drug deal.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Mike Searing, of the Brandon substation, said police received a call in the early morning hours of Sept. 18 regarding a confrontation in the area of Birch and Pinoak that involved baseball bats and possibly a knife, but upon learning the police had been called, the suspects left. Later that day, around 9:50 p.m., police were again called to the same area for a confrontation involving baseball bats.
Searing said the suspect was selling small amounts of marijuana and the victim tried to take some of the drugs without paying for it. The suspect assaulted the victim, who was transported to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital, where he received 14 stitches in the head and was released.
The suspect is being held in the Oakland County Jail.
