Township to offer softball skills camp

In cooperation with Denny Davis, Varsity Softball Coach at Lake Orion High School, Orion Township Parks & Recreation is offering a skill development camp that lets each player measure their own athletic ability and customize their training.
The five-day camp will focus on a different skill each day. Campers will be divided by age and ability, and are encouraged to bring any personal equipment they have. Each participant will also receive a shirt.
The camp takes place Aug. 13-17 from 5-7 p.m. at the LOHS softball fields. It is open to ages 8-16. For five days, the fee is $20 per day; for three or four days it’s $25 per day; and for one or two days it’s $30 per day.
The week-long schedule is as follows: Monday is throwing/base running, Tuesday is fielding, Wednesday is hitting/bunting, Thursday is offensive/defensive strategies and Friday is pitching/catching.
