In what has become typical fashion for them this season, the Lake Orion High School boys track and field team pulled out a victory at the OAA I league meet on May 25 at West Bloomfield High School.
The Dragons won with 153 points, and took first place in several events. Ryan Allison won the long jump for the team (20-51/2), as well as the 300 hurdles (39.8).
Allison was also a member of the winning 800 relay team, along with Erik Wallace, Adam Martin and Justin Smith, finishing with a time of 1:30.6.
Ryan Lewandowski took the high jump (5-10), and Lake Orion teammate Trent Varva won the shot put (136-3). Billy Peterson finished first in the 1600 run (4:28.6), and the 3200 (9:49.1).
The Lake Orion girls team finished fifth in their OAA-I league competition, finishing with 66 points. Clarkston took the top spot with 98.
For the Dragons, Lindsay Gaudard posted a first place finish in the 3200 run, finishing with a time of 11:14.4
On May 28, the Lake Orion boys placed third in the county meet, with 42 points. Birmingham Detroit Country Day took first.
The state track and field finals take place on June 5.
