Trimming the ol? village tree

The sounds of children laughing and singing could be heard echoing through downtown Oxford last week as students from Lakeville Elementary’s APEX pre-school program decorated the Christmas tree in Centennial Park’s gazebo.
Each child made a festive ornament to hang on the tree. Thankfully, there were plenty of moms and dads on hand to help decorate those really high spots.
After trimming the tree, the students gathered round and sang Christmas carols with Oxford resident Marilyn Duguid, who works at the local POH Medical Center.
The event was made possible by the Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce.
