Brandon Twp. —On March 25 the Truck Town Thunder Team #68, Brandon High School Robotics Team traveled to Troy Athens High School to compete at their second competition of the year. They finished qualification matches in fifth place out of 42 teams and made it through two rounds of playoffs with The Steel Armadillos Team #818, from Warren and The FEDS Team # 201 from Rochester.
The performance at Athens coupled with a top finish at Kettering earlier this month, Truck Town Thunder qualified for the Michigan State Championships at Saginaw Valley State University on April 6, and are projected to qualify for the FIRST Championship in Houston, April 20.
Truck Town Thunder Team #68, has been at Brandon High School since 2010 and has a long history of success and hands on STEM education.
However, the team is currently lacking the funds to travel to the state and world-wide championship events.
Donations would help in covering travel costs including hotel, transportation, and to help offset the cost of meals for our team of 25 Brandon High School students, college and adult mentors.
