Varsity wrestling

The Wolves varsity wrestling team has suffered losses like any other team – but the graduationg wrestlers from last year were five of Clarkston’s best.
?(The departed seniors) were the horses. They really carried the team,? said Coach Joe DeGain. ‘Instead of trying to rebuild we are trying to reload this year.?
The teams roster is not completely depleted however; State champion Braden L’Amareaux is back, as well as State qualifiers Steven Smiley and Bryan Webb.
The Wolves will also have seven returning letter winners on the mat this year.
The wrestlers have gotten off to a rocky 2-5 start this year mostly due to six of their best wrestlers being held temporarily from competition.
As far as the rest of the league, Troy and West Bloomfield look strong this year. Holly looks to be one of the toughest teams in the County.
One of the bigger events of the season, the Oakland County Tournament will be held at CHS on Dec. 17-18.
