Ortonville – The League of Women Voters and The Citizen will team up and co-host a village council candidate forum at 7 p.m., Aug. 28, at the Old Town Hall.
The public is invited to the event, a town hall style meeting, in which pre-screened questions from the audience will be asked of the candidates, as well as some questions by the hosts.
The village council election is set for Sept. 11. Vying for the open 2-year council president term are Ken Quisenberry and incumbent Sue Bess. Candidates for three 4-year term council trustee seats are Aileen Champion, Daniel Eschmann, Michael Via, and incumbents Marcy Hanes and Mary Kassuba. Larry Hayden and Melanie Nivelt are competing for a 2-year partial term council trustee seat.
