The power of the Press has struck again.
A Nov. 4 column (‘SW quad generating traffic woes?) by Leader Editor C.J. Carnacchio was cited in the Oxford Village Council’s decision last week to make the north side of Dennison Street, between Washington (M-24) and Hudson streets, a no parking zone 24 hours a day.
The success of three restaurants in downtown’s southwest quadrant has led to an abundance of overflow parking along that narrow stretch of Dennison Street, which has in turn created congestion and a safety hazard for motorists and pedestrians.
Temporary no parking signs were erected on both sides of the street Nov. 5, the day after the column was published.
Permanent signage will be installed on the north side.
