Village officials should attend trail meetings

If the message to the PATMC (Polly Ann Trail Management Council) is to allow horses and non-motorized vehicles on the new bridge ? why did the village vote to ban horses on the bridge at the PATMC meeting?
I believe that Oxford Village is now upset with decisions made by the PATMC ? yet these are decisions that they voted approval for at the PATMC meetings. Is it the fault of the PATMC that Oxford Village chooses to send only their manager and not 2 elected officials to represent them at these meetings ? as is their right? I think not.
On the other hand ? Oxford Township has 2 elected officials at these PATMC meetings. Yet Oxford Township was completely overruled by Oxford Village, Addison, Leonard, and Lake Orion when they recently voted to accept a ‘loan? from Larry Obrecht with merely a motion and a handshake ? not even a signed contract with the specifics!
Even though TAX dollars are used to operate and to build this trail and all representatives except the Village manager are elected officials ? the PATMC denies that it is a government entity and therefore does not have to follow governmental rules.
These are the issues Oxford Village should be seeking answers to. Although we had MTA advice that there are governmental guidelines to borrowing money ? the PATMC chose to live in their usual ‘end-justifies-the-means? approach and proceed forward based on the agenda’s of a select few.
Maybe some Oxford Village officials should start attending these PATMC meetings before spouting off what they want and don’t want. If this isn’t happening ? they only have themselves to blame.
