Thanksgiving and Christmas is upon us and that means volunteers are needed!
Local elementary schools, churches and area businesses have been collecting food for Oxford/Orion FISH’s Thanksgiving Food Drive. Pick ups begin on Thursday, Nov, 16. Volunteers with pick-up trucks or cargo vehicles are needed. Sorting of the food will begin on Thursday and into Friday at Thomas Hall, then they will need to pack baskets.
Volunteers are also needed on Monday, Nov. 20 from 1-2:30 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 21 from 1-2:30 p.m. to help carry groceries to cars for the families.
The AngelFISH gift drop-off will be on Thursday, Dec. 7 and Friday, Dec. 8 from 4-8 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic School Cafeteria off of Indianwood Rd. Families will pick up their gifts on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
Christmas food baskets will be packed on Saturday, Dec. 19 and volunteers are needed once again to help carry groceries on Wednedsay, Dec. 20 from 1-2:30 p.m. and 6-7 p.m., and Thursday, Dec. 21 from 1-2:30 p.m.
The Oxford/Orion FISH Food Pantry will be closed November 22-27 and December 21-January 2.
