Volunteers perk up Depot Park

Depot Park in downtown Clarkston got some welcome attention, as 14 National Honor Society students from Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes spent a day cleaning gardens, weeding, and picking up trash.
“We have to volunteer eight hours during the summer ? this is a good way to do it,” said Madison Embrey, NHS co-president with Alissa Reddy. “Everyone uses Depot Park.”
They worked with Clarkston Rotary Club to organize the project, Aug. 19.
“I worked with Rotary before, on their Shoes for Kids project,” Reddy said. “It was really fun.”
“They were interested in a project in Clarkston, so I talked to Dennis Ritter (city manager) and he said this is something they needed,” said Jason Webster, Rotary president. “This works great for Clarkston.”
