Voters wishing to cast a ballot in the Jan. 15 presidential primary election must register to vote no later than Monday, Dec. 17.
All voters must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old by election day, a resident of Michigan and a resident of the city or township in which they want to vote.
Those arriving at the polls Jan. 15, will be asked if they want to vote in the Democratic or Republican primary, and will receive a ballot for that party.
That ballot will also contain any special election issues.
Register in person at the local clerk’s office, a Michigan Secretary of State Branch, or, time permitting, or by mail.
The mail-in form and additional information is available the Department of State Web site at Michigan.gov/sos.
