Grand Rapids — On Feb. 10, Grand Rapids-based Calvin University hosted the High School Michigan Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association meet. Eighty high school swim teams were represented. This year Goodrich’s Luke Alward and Brandon’s Dom Mahan were selected to represent the Goodrich-Brandon co-op Warhawks.
Mahan placed 25th out of 35 entrants in the 200 yard IM, dropping three seconds to a time of 2:08.87. Alward placed 12th out of 65 in the 50 yard Freestyle. Improving his time on the season to 22.16. Alward then followed that race by placing 23rd out of 50 in the 100 yard Freestyle with a time of 50.24. Mahan capped off the event by placing 15th out of 25 in the 100 yard breaststroke just short of his personal best at 1:03.76.
