First in a two-part training series, volunteers will receive an introduction to the Clinton River Watershed, why it needs to be protected, and how to get involved in stewardship programs throughout the watershed. The training was rescheduled from Aug. 27.
Part II streamside training is 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Sept. 27, at Waterford Township Police Deptartment, 5150 Civic Center Drive, and Waterford Township boat launch.

Each May and October, volunteer teams visit sites and collect physical and biological information about waterway health. Data is used to develop long-term records of aquatic organisms, habitat quality and stream conditions used by local municipalities to developi and implement water-protection programs.
