When pigs fly…

Where do pony rides, varieties of chili and pig tossing all come together?
It must be Barn Daze 2007, held last Saturday at Friendship Park.
Civil War re-enactments, a hay maze, a petting farm, horseshoe throwing, pickle-barrel train rides, inflatable amusements and pumpkin flinging were all part of the festivities as well.
According to Recreation Program Supervisor Jennifer Rowe, 762 cars paid for entry into the park.
An estimated attendance is in the neighborhood of 4,000 people.
‘It was fantastic, I couldn’t have asked for any better,? Rowe said. ‘The weather was perfect, the attendance was great. Everything went off without a hitch.?
Rowe said the event, which was moved up a few weeks to coincide with warmer weather, will stay in the last weekend of September next year.
